 Hi, my name is Paige, and I am in a contemporary first nations class at Pauline Johnson school, while in this class we are starting our first novel called " Indian horse".  The main character "Saul". has been through a lot in his life throughout the start of this book. Introducing parts of his life including his sister being taken away while he slept. as Saul grew up his brother ben began to become sick with tuberculosis and eventually passed away. His mother was very quiet and ghostlike, and his father would show his emotions through an angry quietness. Mother reacts to Bens's death very differently and says he should be taken to a priest. even though priests at residential schools formed the mother and left scars within her which I see as an odd thing because why would you want your son to be prayed over by someone who hurt you. introducing native creation stories

Hi, my name is Paige, and I am in a contemporary first nations class at Pauline Johnston school. what we have studied while being in this class is Native Creation Stories, what I've taken from the creation stories is the natives view and belief on how the world came to be. Some of the stories being "Mi' kmaq creation story". "The story of nuliajuk (inuit)". "The creation of Haida Gwaii (Haida)" and "Hopi origin story" each of these stories share a special message coordinating with the Natives putting pieces together on how world was created.  for example, in "The story of nuliajuk" The stories is explaining that there was a woman who never wanted to get married. so, she got sent out to an island. with the land only containing dogs as living things. after a while she decides to have sexual intercourse with one of the dogs and make babies of all nationalities being sent all around the world. this was a story explaining the creatio...
